Krieg DeVault Partner Deborah J. Daniels, former U.S. Attorney and U.S. Assistant Attorney General, has been selected to serve on the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Daniels has extensive experience in criminal investigations and public safety. Her work has included responsibilities at the U.S. Department of Justice directly related to the nation’s response to the September 11th attack. She conducts internal corporate investigations, and provides counsel to public and private sector clients in matters affecting homeland security, disaster preparedness, leveraging of federal and state resources, and federal and state regulatory compliance. She was instrumental in accomplishing a recent comprehensive revision of the Indiana Criminal Code. Daniels is a former president of the Sagamore Institute for Policy Research, a former principal of the Council for Excellence in Government, and a recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Management. She received her bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

The National Center for State Courts, headquartered in Williamsburg, Va., is a nonprofit court organization dedicated to improving the administration of justice by providing leadership and service to the state courts. Founded in 1971 by the Conference of Chief Justices and Chief Justice of the United States Warren E. Burger, NCSC provides education, training, technology, management, and research services to the nation’s state courts.
