The law firm of Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that associate Lisa A. Durham has relocated to the firm’s Atlanta office. Having lived and worked in Indianapolis for more than 20 years, Durham is relocating in light of the fast-paced growth of the firm’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) and employee benefits practice across the Southeast. From the Atlanta office, she will continue to provide the same level of service to all of her clients nationwide. The move was effective September 8, 2010.
“While Lisa Durham’s daily presence will certainly be missed in the Indianapolis office, we are thrilled that she will apply her experience and offer counsel through the Atlanta office,” stated Atlanta Executive Partner Stephen D. Smith. “She will be an asset to the firm’s clients as we continue to expand our presence across the Southeast.”
ABOUT LISA A. DURHAM
Durham is highly experienced in all aspects of ESOP transactions, as well as plan design and administration and correction of prohibited transactions. She likewise has expertise in a wide range of qualified plan and other employee benefit plan matters, including 401(k), money purchase and other qualified retirement plans. She had eight years of employee benefit plan consulting, compliance and administration experience prior to joining Krieg DeVault. Durham uses this experience in advising plan sponsors, trustees and third-party administrators on implementation, plan design, communication and plan administration matters. She frequently works with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor in connection with correcting ESOP and other retirement plan administration failures.
She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, where she was Note Development Editor of the Indiana Law Review. Durham received her B.A. from the University of Illinois, Urbana. Durham is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
Her professional association involvement includes the ESOP Association, where she serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on Plan Administration. She is also a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership; Ohio Center for Employee Ownership; American Bar Association; Indiana Benefits Conference; Indiana State Bar Association; and International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (Past President of the Central Indiana Chapter).
Durham is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences on a wide range of ESOP topics.
