Charlie Richert is a Senior Associate in the Firm's Business Practice. He assists clients in various matters across diverse industries, including mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and negotiations, and governance issues for non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Mr. Richert also has experience in compliance audits and assisted with the 2021 follow-up audit of USA Gymnastics’ compliance with the Daniels Report for the Protection of Young Athletes.
Charlie is an active member of the Indianapolis community and serves as an at-large committee member of the IndyBar Business Law Section. Additionally, he is currently on the Board of Directors for a local nonprofit in central Indiana and volunteers for an international anti-human trafficking organization.
In addition to his corporate law practice at Krieg DeVault, Mr. Richert served as an attorney for nearly 2 years for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

- Assisted lead counsel to shareholder in shareholder dispute matter
- Advise and draft equity incentive plan for company employees

- Represented exempt organization in formation and application for tax-exempt status, including drafting of organizational documents
Banking and Financial Institutions
- Assist of the United States’ largest financial institutions in the negotiation of banking services agreements, including agreements providing banking services in over 40 countries
- Assisted lead counsel in several credit union acquisitions of state banks across Indiana
- Assisted various financial industry trade associations with regulatory and compliance issues, including drafting and submitting correspondence to federal regulators
