Norman "Tom" Funk retired as an Of Counsel attorney from Krieg DeVault in 2019, where he served as an integral member of the firm's Litigation Practice Group. During his career, Mr. Funk was an experienced and highly regarded member of the trial bar, trying many complex commercial and tort cases as first chair trial counsel and arguing appeals as lead appellate counsel. His trial clients included Donald J. Trump and Melania Trump, for whom he successfully tried separate and unrelated commercial cases in the federal courts in Indianapolis. His diverse trial practice was for both plaintiffs and defendants.
During his legal career, Mr. Funk served as Indiana State Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers, member of the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure, President of the Indiana Defense Lawyers Association, and Adjunct Faculty member of trial practice at the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University in Bloomington. He was selected by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association to receive the Indiana State Bar Association's Civility Award.
