Krieg DeVault’s appellate attorneys have been at the forefront of developing new law that has significant impact on corporations, financial institutions, health care providers, employers, and state agencies. With decades of appellate experience, our attorneys have a well-respected track record appearing before the Indiana and Illinois state appeals courts, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as other state and federal appeals courts around the country. Several members of our appellate team have also served as state or federal appellate court clerks and can offer unique insight into the appellate process. In addition to serving the traditional appellate needs of our clients through evaluation of the record, effective brief-writing, persuasive oral advocacy, and a command of the rules of procedure, our appellate lawyers offer counseling in all facets of litigation, from the development of legal strategy and pre-trial motion practice to trial and the preservation of issues for appeal. In this way, we are able to provide comprehensive litigation support that is invaluable to our clients.
Our appellate attorneys have also represented multiple organizations in filing amicus curiae briefs on issues of concern to their constituents or industry. Such organizations include the American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Indiana Bankers Association, Indiana Legal Foundation, and the Appellate Practice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
