Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Travis D. Lovett has recently been elected to serve on the Eiteljorg Museum’s Community Board of Advisors (“CBA”). Mr. Lovett began his term effective July 1, 2024.  Eiteljorg’s Community Board of Advisors serves in a non-voting advisory role to Eiteljorg’s Board of Directors. In addition to serving in an advisory capacity, members of the CBA serve on various subcommittees that carry out the initiatives of the Board of Directors and the Museum.

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art was founded in 1989. The Eiteljorg Museum explores the intersection of the arts, histories and cultures of the past and present by sharing the diverse stories of the American West and the Indigenous Peoples of North America. The Eiteljorg Museum is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest, and one of only two museums east of the Mississippi that explore both Native America and the American West. The museum’s collection includes artists such as T.C. Cannon, N. C. Wyeth, Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keeffe, Allan Houser, Frederic Remington, Charles Russell, and Kay WalkingStick. The institution’s contemporary Native American art collection has been ranked among the best in the world.

“I am excited to be elected to Eiteljorg’s Community Board of Advisors,” said Lovett. “The Museum and the history it showcases has been an integral part of the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana for the past 35 years. I am eager to start the important work to lead the Museum’s initiatives into the future.”

Travis Lovett is a member of the firm's Business, Acquisitions, and Securities Practice. He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate transactions, advising both buyers and sellers through the negotiation of stock and asset acquisitions and advising clients on mergers and restructurings to meet operational objectives. Mr. Lovett also advises clients that transact and partner with Native American tribes and on various matters related to federal Indian law. Before joining Krieg DeVault, Mr. Lovett served as a Tribal Attorney for Indigenous communities in Canada where he routinely negotiated with government officials to determine if natural resource projects infringed Indigenous lands and advised tribal leaders on corporate and governance matters.

Beyond serving on the Community Board of Advisors, Mr. Lovett is a past class member and graduate of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy, and a former Executive Member of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Mr. Lovett is also a past World Champion Native American Powwow Dancer in the US and Canada, and is a member of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama. He is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Saskatchewan, Canada.
