Maggie Little counsels hospitals, health systems, physician practice groups, and health care providers on the full spectrum of healthcare transactional, regulatory, and operational issues. Within the healthcare industry, Maggie focuses her practice on health care transactional matters, including physician and advanced practice provider employment arrangements, acquisitions and joint ventures, and complex clinical partnerships and affiliations; compliance and regulatory affairs, including licensure, scope of practice, and fraud and abuse matters; and in-house counsel services for providers and health system leadership. She advises clients on clinical and operational policies and procedures, business development and strategic initiatives, and negotiates complex health system contracting matters. 


Maggie began her legal career at Krieg DeVault and has returned to the firm after her tenure as legal counsel to a large Indiana health system.  Drawing on her in-house experience, Maggie partners with clinical, compliance, and administrative teams to operationalize regulatory guidance, address risk management considerations, and support strategic initiatives across complex care settings.

Representative Experience

  • Served as in-house legal counsel for large health system with primary focus on employed providers of the multi-specialty medical group.
  • Counseled large multi-specialty medical group during acquisition and integration of existing medical groups.
  • Advised clients regarding advanced practice provider scope of practice and collaborative relationships.
  • Represented health system client in the negotiation of multi-specialty professional services agreements.
  • Advised client regarding physician compensation structure and compliance with the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback statute.
  • Represented ambulatory surgery centers in joint venture arrangements, organizational restructuring, and physician ownership transactions.
  • Counseled hospital medical staff leadership regarding updates to medical staff bylaws and rules and regulations.
  • Drafted and negotiated physician and advanced practice provider employment agreements.
  • Served as key legal advisor to health system operational committees.
