Deborah J. Daniels Inducted into The Indiana Academy

Daniels has been inducted into The Indiana Academy in recognition of her achievements and contributions in the advancement of the citizens of Indiana. Ms. Daniels was inducted at the 44th Annual Indiana Academy Dinner Celebration on Monday, October 20, 2014.
Modeled after The French Academy, The Indiana Academy was established in 1970 by the Independent Colleges of Indiana to recognize individual leadership, achievement, and philanthropy designed to promote the advancement of the state, as well as its independent sector of higher education.
Independent Colleges of Indiana, Inc. (ICI) is a nonprofit association that represents the state's 31 private nonprofit colleges and universities. ICI member institutions enroll some 95,000 students (approximately 20 percent of all students statewide) and annually produce a third of all bachelor’s degrees in Indiana. Deborah Daniels, former U.S. Attorney and U.S. Assistant Attorney General, has lengthy experience in criminal and civil investigations and public safety. Her work has included responsibilities at the U.S. Department of Justice directly related to the nation’s response to the September 11th attack on the U.S., data and communications interoperability, and the nation's ability to detect, prevent and respond to future terrorist acts. Ms. Daniels provides counsel to the firm’s public and private sector clients in matters affecting public safety, homeland security, disaster preparedness, leveraging of federal and state resources, federal and state regulatory compliance and internal investigations. She assists the firm’s clients in interacting with agencies of local, state and federal government, including both the executive and legislative branches at all levels, and advises clients ranging from government agencies to health care providers to other private sector entities on compliance and public policy matters.
