Elizabeth M. Roberson Receives the Indianapolis Bar Association’s 2022 Young Lawyer of the Year Award

Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Elizabeth M. Roberson has received the Indianapolis Bar Association’s “IndyBar” 2022 Young Lawyer of the Year Award. Ms. Roberson received her award this morning during the IndyBar Association and Foundation Awards Breakfast at Meridian Hills Country Club in Indianapolis.
The Young Lawyers Division of the Indianapolis Bar Association selects each year a “Young Lawyer of the Year" based on meeting specific criteria established by the IndyBar. The attorney receiving the award must be 36 years of age or younger OR have been in practice eight years or less, be a member of the IndyBar, have made exceptional contributions to support Young Lawyers Division sponsored activities or programs, be recognized as a good role model for the legal profession and deserving of special recognition. The recipient is selected by the executive committee of the Young Lawyers Division.
Ms. Roberson has been integrally involved in the IndyBar for several years. She has served as a member of the Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee since 2017, currently serving as the Executive Committee Chair, and having served as past Social Chair and Chair Elect/Secretary-Treasurer. She was also the 2021 recipient of the IndyBar’s Young Lawyers Division Distinguished Leadership Award. In her various roles on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee, Ms. Roberson has had the opportunity to mentor many young attorneys and serve as a voice for other young lawyers. Ms. Roberson also serves on the IndyBar Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the IndyBar’s Labor and Employment Section.
Elizabeth Roberson concentrates her practice on complex employment and civil litigation matters, primarily representing clients on matters related to retaliation, discrimination, harassment, family and medical leave, disabilities, unemployment compensation, wage and hour, and restrictive covenants. Throughout her career, Ms. Roberson has demonstrated excellent advocacy skills in both federal and state courts of Indiana through motion practice, including many successful motions to dismiss and dispositive motions; oral argument at court hearings and settlement conferences; and discovery practice.
Prior to joining Krieg DeVault, Ms. Roberson served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Government Litigation Section for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. There she defended the State of Indiana, its agencies, judicial officers, county prosecutors, and state employees in numerous civil litigation matters. She is a 2016 summa cum laude graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law.
