Steven Sherman has over 35 years of experience in the natural gas, oil, electric, and renewable energy industries. He has represented companies in all areas of energy and public utilities, including utilities, power producers, natural gas and electric marketers and energy associations. His practice has included regulatory and trial work before state and federal regulatory bodies and federal and state courts; asset transactions; joint venture agreements; negotiation of natural gas, oil, and power sales agreements and renewable energy agreements; including international energy agreements.

Representative Experience

  • Represented prevailing parties in landmark interstate transportation proceeding at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
  • Responsible for assisting numerous communities in creation of water and sewer ordinances and preparation of rates.
  • Responsible for advising energy companies on the sale of electric and natural gas generation facilities.
  • Responsible for negotiations for United States energy companies on numerous matters with energy interests in Europe and Africa. 
  • Helped create the first independent gas marketing company as an affiliate of a public utility.
  • Represented a national energy association on various energy related matters.
  • Represents buyers and sellers of natural gas and electricity in contract negotiations.
  • Represented and advised solar developers, wind developers, and financial institutions regarding renewable energy issues in The United States, Europe and Africa.
